Police Appeal After Castlewellan Assault

Police are appealing for information following an assault in the Drumnaquoile Road area of Castlewellan on 28 June.

dn_screenAt approximately 2.30am, a 22-year-old male was walking along the road when a dark coloured vehicle with three males on board pulled up beside him. Two of the men got out of the car and assaulted him.xa0The victim required hospital treatment for his injuries.

Police are investigating and would appeal to anyone who noticed a vehicle acting suspiciously in the area at the time or anyone with information to contact them at Downpatrick police station on the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, information can be given to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously by telephoning 0800 555 111.
