Pirates xa0Are To Board Castle Ward On Monday 11 July… Are You Ready?

Blimey!

It’s the summer holidays boys and girls which can only mean one thing… Captain Ward and his fellow Pirates are embarking on their annual voyage to Castle Ward.

The invasion kicks off a day earlier this year on Monday 11 July so join Captain Ward and his crew for a celebration of everything Pirate from 1pm to 5pm.

Ye better dress up in your finest uniform to impress the Captain and there may even be some gold coins in it for your efforts.

Scallywags young and old can play tug o’ war on the front lawn so make sure you bring your best sea legs and then hopefully you won’t fall in to Davy Jones’ locker.

Disembark if you dare in the Castle Ward Pirate Cellars for an expedition with Buccaneer Scurvy Dog or set off to the face painting port to join the treasure hunt for some pirate booty. Scour the land for hidden clues and have your spyglass handy to keep those pesky pirates at bay!

Make your own Jolly Roger and eyepatch although don’t make two eyepatches and wear them or you may not find your loot! You can then head down to the Barn for a bounty of exciting crafts and activities.

Ride on the horse and carriage, weather permitting, but keep yer guard or risk having to walk the plank!

To escape these rascals seek refuge in our beautiful Castle Ward mansion, free of charge, or relax to the sounds of the Silver Fish band. Grounds are open from 10am and the gift shop, tea room, house and second-hand bookshop are open from 11am to 5pm. Pirate activities run from 1pm to 5pm.

Normal admission applies / members free.
