Pipe Deam Comes True For Castlewellan Boy

Finn Megoran (11) from Castlewellan had a pipe dream come true this week with help from Phoenix Natural Gas as he received delivery of a custom-made costume, just in time for the Halloween celebrations.

The costume was created exclusively for Finn by Phoenix Natural Gas after the eleven year old expressed his wish to dress up as the Phoenix Natural Gas pipeline.

Mum Karen Megan said: “Since Phoenix Natural Gas has been working in the local area, Finn has had an interest in the engineering aspect of constructing a natural gas network. He regularly visits the Phoenix website and keeps the family updated on the project and how construction is coming along.

“Finn had the great idea to dress up as the natural gas pipeline this Halloween and so I contacted Phoenix Natural Gas to ask if they could assist in helping us source some materials or accessories for the costume. Right away I received an email back to thank Finn for his interest in the project and offering to custom-make a costume for Finn. I couldn’t believe a company would be so kind to help him out and I was delighted with their response.

“Phoenix Natural Gas delivered the made-to-measure costume and accessories to our home and also had a surprise for Finn –  a Halloween goodie bag full of treats! As a family we were thrilled that Phoenix took such an interest in Finn’s request and have been telling everyone about our experience with Phoenix – this really was above and beyond our expectations and Finn is set to have a fantastic Halloween and hopefully win best costume thanks to Phoenix Natural Gas.”

Geri Wright, Phoenix Natural Gas Communications Manager said: “Phoenix Natural Gas has been working in the surrounding Castlewellan area to extend the natural gas network and bring fuel choice to 13 new towns and an additional 28,000 properties in the East Down area.

“Throughout the construction phase, we have been working closely with local communities and, as a company actively engaged in corporate social responsibility, we are delighted to fulfil Finn’s wish and help him have a spooktacular Halloween this year.

“When I first read the email I was thrilled to hear that Finn has such a keen interest in the engineering project and I thought it just reward that he should have his own custom made costume.

“We have also invited Finn to partake in a site visit so he can learn first-hand how the network is built and how natural gas is distributed to homes. Who knows – perhaps one day in the future we will even welcome Finn on our Phoenix Natural Gas apprenticeship scheme!”
