Painted Earth Opens Upstairs Art Gallery In Newcastle

Newcastle-based business Painted Earth has made space for more with a brand-new, second floor expansion featuring more original art, contemporary crafts, eye catching jewelry and quirky gifts in its Main Street premises and online.

The thriving shop has expanded, adding a new gallery space to showcase the best of local and Ireland wide artists, with more room for browsing and special events.

The new look Painted Earth will pack in even more fabulous products from across the island and, of course, from the foot of the Mournes.

The internal design was completed by architect Sean McKay of MK Architects and provides a central staircase to the first floor which has excellent light showing off the many artworks.

Owner Danielle Gorman, who has been running the business since 2021, says that the expansion was always something they wanted to deliver on.

“We had started to outgrow our small shop and the time was right to expand the number of fabulous arts and crafts available to our customers in store and online.

“Our new Gallery space will host dedicated events with key artists and provide plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy our new browsing space.

“Our carefully curated gift ware and unique greeting cards mean we’re supplying a diverse range of products to our customers online and in person.”

“We enjoyed the launch today chatting to artists and guests and the feedback has been tremendous. Keep an eye out on our socials where we’ll confirm opening dates and celebratory offers.”
