O’Neill Thanks Supporters of Castlewellan’s Christmas Lights

Councillor Eamonn ONeill has thanked all involved in Castlewellan’s Christmas lights’ display and switch on.

He said: “As chairman of Castlewellan Regeneration Ltd I am delighted that once again we had a very successful Christmas lights switch on. I am particularly pleased that we were able to put on our usual range of enterainment xa0with the the under-age Disco in the Kings Inn, the Tea Dance in Hillyard House, the Story Telling in J R’s and the Magic Show and a special feature of the wonderful Santa and Mrs Claus in The Lodge and with the switching on the lights.

“This year we added quite a number of items to the Main Street and also in partnership with CCE extended the lights scheme to The Lodge and we were also delighted to see the great display put on by the Community Centre. It was particularly significant that all this was achievable in our current economic crisis.

“I would like to thank all involved, the businesses who did support us so generously, the cross community choir, Newcastle CCE, all our volunteers and helpers, our very efficient electricians AJC Electrical and our own staff especially Margaret and Kay.

“Well done to you all.”
