Police are appealing for information about an arson attack in Cullyhanna.

Police are appealing for information after reports of arson which occurred in Cullyhanna this morning (Thursday 8th April).

Sergeant Gracey said: “Shortly after 00.35am, it was reported that a lorry had been set alight in the Drumalt Road area. A further three lorries parked in the area were also found set alight and damage was caused to a mobile home.

“A window of the mobile home was also damaged during the incident. Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service, who were in attendance and extinguished the lorries on fire that were completely destroyed during the incident.

“Enquiries are continuing to establishment the circumstances surrounding these incidents and we would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area at the time of the incident, should contact police on 101 and quote reference number 32 08/04/21

Slieve Gulllion area Sinn Féin Councillor Barra Ó Muirí has said that reports of an arson attack near Dorsey in which vehicles were damaged has frightened and angered the community.

The local Councilor said: “This is a friendly hardworking community and this incident has angered and frightened many.

“The Police are currently investigation the incident and anyone with information regarding it should contact them”.
