Newry MOurne and Down Councillor Pól Ó Gribín (Sinn Féin) has welcomed maintenance work carried out at Playrock carpark in Leitrim.
he Slieve Croob councillor said:xa0″I had been contacted by a number of people who were concerned about the state of car parking bays at the Playrock car park in Leitrim.
“Over the years the parking bays had become overgrown and it had got to the stage where they were in a slippy and potentially dangerous condition.
“This is a busy car in the local area and the bays were becoming unusable because of their overgrown condition.
“I contacted the Mourne Heritage Trust on behalf of the local residents and requested that the parking bays be cleaned.
“I welcome the fact that this work has now been carried out and I hope that we now seea regular system of maintenance at the car park.”
