Sinn Féin Councillor Pól Ó Gribin has welcomed a commitment by Roads Service to unblock gullies on the Drumnaquoile Road, Drumaroad, which were causing flooding to local residents.
Cllr Ó Gribín commented:xa0“I was contacted by a number of local residents who expressed to me their concern at the issue of flooding on this road which was being caused by the gullies on the road being compacted with debris.
“This blockage was not only affecting local residents but was causing a buildup of surface water on the road, making it unsafe for drivers in the area.
“Following representation from myself, Roads Service have now given a commitment to unblock the gullies which were causing the problem. I want to welcome the work which is being carried out and I hope that this will be a long term solution to those affected.”
