No Deal Brexit Bad For Trainees says Hazzard

Trainees could be penalised by no-deal Brexit saysxa0Hazzard.xa0
Sinnxa0Féinxa0MP Chris Hazzard has said students and young people could be penalised by a no deal Brexit.
Thexa0Southxa0Downxa0MP said: “I have been contacted by trainee accountants who are very concerned that their training will not be recognised on an all-Ireland basis after a Brexit.
“Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) have written to trainees saying any training experience in the north after March 29th will not count towards their qualification in the event of a no deal Brexit.
“This is very alarming given that CAI is an all Ireland body.
“Training places are hard to come by and trainees often arrange these months in advance so this will come as a blow to many.
“It is also yet another example of how Brexit is limiting the opportunities of students and young people and is intimately damaging to the development of an all-Ireland economy.
“We need to see the Irish government standing firm to ensure that Irish interests are protected and that students are not disadvantaged as a result of this,” added Mr Hazzard.
