NIIRTA Congratulates A Level Students And Flags Up Vocational Career Routes

The Northern Ireland Independent Retail Trade Association (NIIRTA) has congratulated young people receiving their GCSE results today and urged them to consider alternative courses to A-Levels, which the six FE local FE Colleges offer. NIIRTA Chief Executive Glyn Roberts said:xa0“Congratulations to all those who did well today and to those who didn’t –there are many other options available. dn_screen“A-Levels are not the only show in town and our six FE Colleges have a fantastic range of alternative vocational courses which can lead on to University or toward a career path” “The Retail Sector is keen to see a greater emphasis at ages 16-18 on Level 3 vocational courses, which are business friendly and build a wider skills set for an ever changing economy. “Northern Ireland desperately needs new entrepreneurs and decisions on courses at 16 is important to creating the next generation of retailers and small businesses.”
