NI Chamber brings Regional Networking Event to North Down

Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) and NIE Networks will launch the 2020 Regional Networking Series with an event in North Down at the beginning of next month.

Over 100 members of the local business community are expected to attend the first of five large scale networking events held across Northern Ireland over the course of the year.

The first event is to take place at The Old Inn, Crawfordsburn on 6 February 2020, 9:30am – 11:30am.

Hosted by NI Chamber and sponsored by NIE Networks, the series is an opportunity for delegates to build connections during a structured networking session followed by a business development discussion and Q&A.

Getting ready for the networking event are Valerie McConville (Head of Business Development, NI Chamber), Paul Stapleton (Managing Director, NIE Networks) and Edel Creery (Head of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, NIE Networks).

Attendees at the Crawfordsburn event will hear from Clare McGill, Head of Economic Development at Ards and Down Borough Council, and Maeve Monaghan, CEO of NOW Group, on the benefits of collaboration between social enterprise and the private sector, and the role of local government.

Valerie McConville, Head of Business Development, NI Chamber said: “NI Chamber is a province wide organisation committed to supporting the growth aspirations of business all over Northern Ireland. The Regional Networking Series affords us the opportunity to engage with member organisations of every size and from every sector, and we are thrilled to begin the series in Crawfordsburn.

Networking is a key component of NI Chamber and our members have told us that they have created new business opportunities and won contracts through connections made at events like these. We are delighted to partner with NIE Networks for the fourth consecutive year to host the series.”

Edel Creery, Head of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, NIE Networks added: “TheRegional Networking Series has grown to be one of our most valued partnerships, not only with the NI Chamber but the Northern Ireland business community as a whole.

“The series has allowed us to forge instrumental connections with business leaders, medium enterprise and start-ups and through the series we witness those connections being formed between others each year. We are very much looking forward to another successful term as headline sponsor.”
