Patrician Youth Panto Hits Bullseye With Robin Hood
Robin Hood – Babes in the Wood ‘ which showed at the Great Hall in the Downshire Estate in Downpatrick was another great success. After weeks of rehearsals, the large cast of youth club members performed their hearts out to a packed and enthusiastic audience.
This was the 27th pantomime produced by the Patrician Youth Centre and they just keep getting better and better. Since the 80’s, the Patrician has been producing pantomimes with the help of its members and song, dance and comedy are all part of the show.
Yvonne Maquire, Senior Youth Worker, said, “We are delighted to bring you this tale of life from Sherwood Forest. The hilarious script sets the scene for the finale, the showdown between the baddie, the Sherriff xa0of Nottingham, and the goodie, Robin Hood.
Wells Comments On Swine Flu Vaccination
Jim Wells MLA, Chairman of the Assembly Health Committee, said, “These tragic deaths have renewed calls for the vaccination of all under five’s against swine flu.
“The Health Committee questioned the Public Health Agency about this very important issue on Thursday and I spoke to the Chief Medical Officer yesterday to get an update on the current situation.

Down County Museum To Host Holocaust Memorial Day
Holocaust Memorial Day event on Thursday 27th January, 2011.
This event features a presentation on memories of the Holocaust by people from County Down who were either in Nazi concentration camps or who were involved in the liberation of those camps. The event has been organised by the Museum in partnership with the Somme Heritage Centre who have been gathering oral history in relation to World War II including the concentration camps and their liberation.
