Castlewellan GAC Notes
Castlewellan Senior Hurlers came back down to earth with a bump this week in their Ulster League Division 4 game against St Mary’s Rasharkin at the Antrim venue. The lads were completely outclassed when falling to a score line of 4-20 to 2-2.
It spells out the work the Town need to do in order to progress in this division. This defeat and the manner of it will have hurt them. I am sure The Management Team and the lads will pick it up again for this week’s match.

Bernie described the staff and facilities as, “wonderful” and said her experience in hospital was “fabulous care from start to finish”. In support of the Ulster Maternity/Neonatal Unit they hosted a Country Music Extravaganza evening in the Millbrook Lodge where a host of country music stars participated freely, enabling all proceeds of the event to go to the hospital.xa0 The event was a sell out, raising a total of a staggering £8,000.
Through Bernie and Gerard’s hard work and the support of local people from Ballynahinch and beyond, this fabulous amount of money was raised and donated with a request from the Dornan Family that new mothers and babies would benefit. The funds will be spent on equipment and furniture for patient comfort and will make a positive contribution to other families who will use the unit in the future.
The staff of the Maternity Unit and the Neonatal Unit in the Ulster Hospital wishes to thank Mr and Mrs Dornan and all those who participated and contributed to a wonderful evening.
Ward Manager Julie Johnston-McKee and Neonatal Manager Marian Campbell accepted the donation on behalf of the South Eastern Trust, and thanked the Dornan family for their amazing fundraising efforts.
£4000 was donated to the Neonatal ward and £4000 to the maternity ward.]]>
