There were record breaking numbers of participants, both running and walking, in a total not far short of 800, while spectators at the start, finish and around the route provided great encouragement and atmosphere.
The race itself saw a new name added to the illustrious list of winners with North Belfast’s Stephen Scullion dominating from the start and end the dominance of the McAlister / Rowan duo who have claimed the last 9 titles between them.

Approximately 20 children attended the workshop. They all enjoyed making ink from a method two thousand years old and learning to write their names in Ogham.
O'Boyle Glad Missing Children Found
SDLP Newcastle councillor Carmel O’Boyle has spoken of the community’s relief at the finding in Newcastle of four children missing from their home in Ardee, Co Louth.
Ms O’Boyle praised the police on both sides of the border and said the incident showed how cross-border police and community co-operation can be a success.
She xa0added,xa0“Like everyone everywhere, I am very pleased that the four Eaton children from Ardee have turned up and can now be reunited with their mother.
“I understand that this is a complicated story, but the Gardai and the PSNI are to be congratulated on bringing their disappearance to a conclusion on Sunday when they located the children in Newcastle.
“This was an excellent example of cross-border police and community cooperation. I am greatly relieved that the children are now in the safe hands of those in charge of this operation.”]]>
