Down District Councillor Eamonn ONeill has called for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive to undertake a study of the traffic management and parking arrangements at the apex of De Courcey Way in Dundrum. "][/caption] “This is a very attractive and well kept area but there are serious difficulties around traffic movement, general access and congestion. This is a big problem throughout Northern Ireland as so many housing estates such as this were built when the number of vehicles was much lower and access was no problem. “Nowadays , however, many families have two or more vehicles. This kind of problem comes up regularly at thexa0 Northern Ireland Housing Council. In this case the problem could cause serious problems, for example, if emergency services had to get immediate access they might not be able to get close enough to be effective. “I shall be writing to the N.I.Housing Executive to ask them is there anything that they can do to improve this access problem without disturbing the amenity of the area,” said Councillor O’Neill.]]>

Residents living in Shanslieve Drive and Tullybrannigan Road have sent me a number of complaints about the pot holes and poor road surface areas which have now begun to become highly visible, and are causing motorists to avoid suddenly suddenly in order to prevent damage to their vehicles.” “I am therefore calling on DRD Roads Service to carry out an inspection of both Shanslieve Drive and Tullybrannigan Road and to carry out urgent remedial works to remedy the situation. “I have now made representations to DRD Roads Service and hope remedial repair work will be carried out very shortly, and I will continue to monitor the situation closely until the works are completed by DRD Roads Service.”]]>
