Newcastle Police Seek Man Who Punched Boy

POLICE in Newcastle are investigating an assault of a 12-year old boy in the Castlewellan Road area last night (Tues 23 Oct).
Around 5:30pm, the boy was walking with a friend in the vicinity of Bernagh Green in the town. The young boy was approached by an unknown male who shouted at him and then punched him in the face. The assailant is described as being of a thin build, 5ft 10ins tall and wearing a grey woollen hat with a long dark coat, light blue jeans and brown trainer style shoes.xa0
Anyone who witnessed the assault or who has any information is asked to contact police at Newcastle on 0845 600 8000.xa0 Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
