New Hospitality Event Tent For Newcastle

The Newcastle Revitalisation Group in association with Down District Council recently procured an exclusive ‘Event Tent’, through Department for Social Development (DSD) funding. The tent is the perfect event space to facilitate a wide range of festivals and activities.

The ‘Event Tent’ will make its debut in Donard Park, Newcastle with a line-up of FREE fun filled activities on Sunday 10 August 2014 from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.

Country and Irish singer Lisa McHugh will headline the event and will be joined by the ‘wee man’ from Strabane, Hugo Duncan, accompanied by Box Car Brian and Country Harmony. The action packed event promises not to disappoint and with activities such as face painting, laser clay pigeon shooting, archery, a bouncy slide and local food, there is something to entertain the entire family.

Speaking about the securing of the tents and next week’s event, Revitalisation Steering Committee Chairman Audrey Byrne said: “I believe that Newcastle is a unique tourism destination which has, particularly over the past five years, been host to high quality events.

“Our Revitalisation group is aimed at enhancing our existing reputation by investing in, among other things, these amazing “Event Tents”. Our group has worked hard with DSD and Down District Council over the past year at making joint decisions on the “spend” available for Newcastle, always aware of facilitating our local communities as well the visitors.

“The FREE event on 10 August will be a fantastic entertainment package not to be missed and will extend the amazing Festival of Flight, which is sure to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to Newcastle.”
