Narrow Water Bridge one step closer says Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard
Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard and Sinéad Ennis MLA has welcomed further commitment from Irish government on the development of Narrow Water Bridge
The South Down MP has said the delivery of this project is key to “unlocking South Down’s potential”.
Chris Hazzard added: “It is welcome that the Irish government have committed to delivering €1 billion into strategic infrastructural projects for the North.
“This includes the iconic Narrow Water Bridge… a long awaited project that can now move forward with real ambition.
Sinéad Ennis MLA added: “The Narrow Water Bridge is not just an infrastructure project, it will be transformational.
“It is key to unlocking South Down’s huge potential to create good quality jobs, boost tourism and create a stronger, all-Ireland economy.
“Sinnxa0Féinxa0will continue to ensure Narrow Water bridge is delivered to improve the lives of workers, families and local businesses across South Down.”

€800 million injection is a catalyst for change says Archibald
Finance Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald MLA has welcomed the Irish Government’s commitment of €800 million for Shared Island projects.
Speaking following a meeting with the Irish Finance Ministerxa0Michael McGrath TD at Parliament Buildings, Dr Archibald said:xa0“Today is a significant investment by the Irish Government demonstrating the power of joint working to deliver positive benefits for people right across this Island.
“The positive announcement ofxa0€800 millionxa0of funding will make a significant contribution to the development of our economy and infrastructure particularly in the North West and border areas.
“This funding will support the redevelopment of the A5 Western Transport Corridor and Casement Park as well as funding projects in infrastructure including an hourly rail service between Belfast and Dublin.
“It will create jobs, connect communities, unlock economic benefits and make a hugely positive impact on people’s lives here.
