Murnin Opens Books Of Condolence For Lyra McKee

Cllr Mark Murnin, Chairman of Newry Mourne and Down District Council, opens up the books of condolences in council centres across the district for journalist Lyra McKee, who was shot dead this week in Derry.

Newry Mourne and Down District Council Opens Books of Condolence for Journalist, Lyra McKee

The citizens of Newry, Mourne and Down District Council can express their condolences to the family and friends of Lyra McKee.

Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairman, Councillor Mark Murnin was first to sign the book and said: “The opening of these Books of Condolence will allow the good people of our district to offer their sympathies to Lyra’s family and friends.”

The Council has opened books of Condolence available from the following Council premises:

  • Crotlieve –Warrenpoint Town Hall
  • Downpatrick – Down Arts Centre and Downshire Civic Centre
  • Newry – District Council Offices, Newry and Newry Town Hall
  • Rowallane – Ballynahinch Market House
  • Slieve Gullion – Crossmaglen Community Centre
  • The Mournes – Newcastle Centre.
