BraveheartsNI Receives Cheque For £3000 from Mourne Motor Cycle Club
The Mourne Motorcycle Club has once again captured the charitable hearts of the motocross community with their latest fundraising event.
The charity event, held on farmland beside Seaforde MotoParc on Wednesday, 17th June 2026, was organised to raise funds for BraveheartsNI.
This year the club is delighted to announce they have raised £3,000 for the local charity, to help them support teenagers and young adults with congenital heart disease.
Ahead of the cheque presentation Mourne Motorcycle Club Chairman Billy McLarnin said: “I am very proud that every year we as a club show what we are all about with our charity fundraising.
“We were delighted to help BraveheartsNI and it was an honour to meet Aodhan Evans, along with his father Cathal, to hear their story and Aodhan’s recovery.
“This is why we choose local charities, that are helping in the local community.
“These are organisations that we don’t usually hear about, unless they are needed by family or friends, but they are doing invaluable work every day.
“We hope that BraveheartsNI can use this money to help more families in their darkest hour,” he said.
Giving credit to the people who help make the Mourne club’s events happen Billy McLarnin added: “Everyone involved in the club plays a their part, but we have to thank Seaforde landowner Norman Green.
“Adrian Douglas, who levelled and resowed the track, but asked for any money the club would pay him to be donated to the charity, Douglas Autoparts in Ballynahinch and Keith Cullen from Herrons Country Fried Chicken, Ballynahinch, who has helped at every charity event run by the Mourne club. They all played their part.
After receiving the cheque for £3,000 on behalf of BraveheartsNI’s Cathal Evans said: “This cheque is worth its weight in gold. I know this will help someone else as it did for me i my situation.
