Mountpanther Walk For Life Draws Over 500

Walk for Life at Mountpather sees big turnout of supporters for annual event

The annual Walk for Life held at Mountpanther Farm Park attracted over 500 people on Saturday 13th September .

The event was organised by the Greater Newcastle Suicide Prevention Group with support from Mournes and Slieve Croob DEAs, as part of World Suicide Prevention Week (8-14 September 2025).

The walk was one of several events within the Festival of Life in Newcastle, a week-long programme centred on mental wellbeing and suicide prevention.

The festival featured community activities designed to raise awareness, encourage connection, and provide support for those experiencing distress or crisis.

Agencies were also on hand throughout the day to offer advice and resources for mental health and wellbeing.
