Money Stolen From Business In Portaferry

Police are appealing for information following the theft of money from commercial premises in the High Street area of Portaferry.dn_screen

At approximately 1.45am on 24 May, a male came into the forecourt of the premises and removed a money tray containing cash from a car wash machine.

The culprit, who then then made off along High Street, also caused approximately £300 damage to the machine. He is described as being slim to medium build, and between 5ft 9ins and 6ft 2ins in height. He is believed to be in his twenties or thirties and was wearing dark clothing and light coloured trainers.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and who noticed any suspicious activity or anyone with any other information on the location of the money tray is asked to contact police in Newtownards on the non-emergency number 101.

Alternatively, information can be given to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously by telephoning 0800 555 111.
