At approx 12.45 pm on Sunday 1 June,xa0the Mourne Mountain Team Rescue team received a request for assistance from a walking group.

While descending Slievenabrock, an man fell and xa0sustained a suspected lower leg fracture.

Fortunately the MMRT team were training on the area in the Happy Valley and able to respond directly.

The casualty was stabilised and evacuated by stretcher to a track end and team landrover for transfer to Newcastle and hand over of the injured man to the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

A total of 19 members were involved and stood down at 16.45 pm.
