TGE Mourne Mountain Rescue Team were called out on Sunday 2 March at approximately 2pm.
The team received a request for assistance from an injured walker and the MMRT team were scrambled. The injured woman was undertaking a training walk on Slieve Foye, near Carlingford when she fell, and sustained leg fractures.
The MMRT volunteers located and stabilised the casualty before evacuating her on stretcher to a team landrover. The casualty was then transferred to Carlingford village and passed on to an ambulance service for onward transfer to hospital.
A total of 14 team members responded and were stood down at 6pm. The team were assisted in this call by GS Dundalk, ICG Greenore and Dublin and Dublin Wicklow MRT who also responded.
