Alliance MLA Andrew McMurray asks for an extension to the Carlingford Lough greenway

Andrew McMurray MLA asked the Minister for Infrastructure whether she would consider linking or developing greenways on the Warrenpoint side of Carlingford Lough on the completion of the Narrow Water Bridge.
It comes as the Minister reported to the Assembly on a recent meeting of the North-South Ministerial Council in the Transport Sector, where progress on a range of cross-border greenways was discussed.
The Minister thanked Mr McMurray for the suggestion and stated that, while an extension had not been considered to date, it was something her Department “could certainly look at”, given the design of the Narrow Water Bridge and its aim to boost tourism and active travel.
Andrew McMurray said: “I am pleased that Minister Kimmins will look at extending the Carlingford Lough Greenway to potentially link it up with the Narrow Water Bridge.
“This would greatly improve our active travel infrastructure and support tourism in the area.
The Minister promised to get back to me on the proposal and I look forward to seeing what can be done.”
