South Down SDLP MLA Karen McKevitt has welcomed the awards from the Big Lottery funding to groups across South Down.
She said: “The award of over £50,000 in Big Lottery funding to projects in South Down is great news for the local community and for all the groups who have been successful in their bids.
“A wide range of valuable projects have received funding from pre-school groups aiming to improve numeracy and literacy to community organisations setting up health and wellbeing projects. “At a time of severe cuts to community and voluntary organisations, these grants are a vital funding stream for local groups. I look forward to seeing the projects develop and the community benefit that will flow from this.”]]>
