McGrath Says PSNI Must Continue To Address Anti-Social Behaviour In Downpatrick

Downpatrick area Councillor Colin McGrath (SDLP) has called for an end to anti-social behaviour in the Flying Horse and Model Farm areas of Downpatrick.

He said: “Whilst there has been a reduction in the instances of ASB in the area of late, there are still isolated incidents with a car being damaged recently whilst passing Ballymote Park and a window of another car being smashed at the weekend.

“The PSNI have done good work in the area with foot patrols, video facilities and working on an inter-agency basis but they must continue this work as the behaviour hasn’t completely ceased.

“I would appeal to those involved in these incidents to stop their behaviour and to think of the impact of their actions – frightening people, causing damage to vehicles and impacting people’s businesses too – their anti-social behaviour isn’t without its impact across the community.

“I have written to the PSNI and asked for continued patrols and investigations in the area and hope these will take place.”
