During his visit to the College, Ken Webb, Principal and Chief Executive, told Mr McCallister how enrolments in the South Down area have been steady, impacted by a significant drop in Access to Education enrolments. xa0Mr Webb xa0said, “Feedback from students has highlighted a financial issue where adult learners are choosing not to return to education full time in light of partners or family members losing their jobs. “However, for the first time in eight years we have received enough enrolments to run an engineering course in Downpatrick.xa0 We are delighted with this development and are committed to getting the students successfully through their level 2 course, and with high levels of retention hope to take them on to Level 3 next year.”]]>
