Mason Seeks Loughinisland Resurfacing & Street Lights Investment

Sinn Féin’s Cathy Mason has asked DFI Roads to implement a resurfacing and street lighting improvement scheme in Loughinisland.

Sinn Féin’s Cathy Mason has asked Department for Infrastructure (DfI) Roads officials to invest in long overdue upgraded street lights and a resurfacing scheme throughout the village.

The Slieve Croob spokesperson said:xa0 “A recent community study in Loughinisland found that the village would benefit greatly from a scheme to resurface the Loughinisland Road through the centre of the village and a project to enhance the quality and condition of the street lighting.
“There is no doubt that the installation of new LED lights to replace the existing sodium vapour-based bulbs would improve efficiency and pedestrian safety throughout the village in particular.
“The successful implementation of these two infrastructure projects would go a long way to improve the outdated and unkempt nature of street lighting and road conditions in the village – something that has now unsurprisingly been included in the recent village plan consultation.”
