Marie Curie Cancer Care Prepares For Big Apple

This iconic Marathon takes runners through all five of New York’s boroughs, soaking up landmarks including the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, the Queensboro Bridge, the Empire State Building, finishing in Central Park. Marie Curie Cancer Care has special Marathon packages, with everything taken care of, so all you need to worry about is signing up before the places disappear. Everything from flights and four star accommodation, to fundraising support and training tips is organised for you. If that’s not enough, Marie Curie has teamed up with Nike to provide all Daffodil Team runners with an exclusive free Nike Dri FIT technical performance running vest designed to keep you comfortable and cool on the course. An added bonus for 2011 – anyone who runs for Marie Curie Cancer Care in 2011 will be entered into a free draw to win a weekend for two in Paris and a place in the 2012 Paris Marathon. Eimear McCooey, Marie Curie Cancer Care fundraiser, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of one of the greatest marathons in the Big Apple, be in with the chance to take part free in the Paris Marathon and most importantly to help Marie Curie Nurses continue to care for terminally ill patients and their families across Northern Ireland. All money raised will allow more Marie Curie Nurses to provide free care in the region for terminally ill people, so if you’re going to run, run for us.
