Man Charged With Drugs Offences To Appear In Ards Court

A police spokesman said that detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force have charged a 40 year old man with a number of offences including being concerned in the supply of class A and B controlled drugs and fraud by failing to disclose information.

The man is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates Court on Thursday 26th November. As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.

The charges are in relation to a number of searches carried out in the Dundonald  area on Friday 19 June by Detectives from the Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF) investigating suspected drug criminality linked to east Belfast UVF.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland, HM Revenue & Customs and the National Crime Agency established the Paramilitary Crime Task Force to tackle criminality linked to paramilitarism as part of the Executive’s action plan on tackling paramilitary activity, criminality and organised crime.
