Donavan Hagen from Downpatrick wins the Lowden-Sheeran Guitar draw for Down Community Radio FM 105
The winner of the six string Lowden-Sheeran 6-string guitar donated by George Lowden of Lowden Guitars was Donovan Hagen from Downpatrick.
He popped in to say a few words on Down Community Radio on Saturday morning and was presented with his fabulous prize of a quality guitar made in County Down in Saintfield by the Lowden Guitar company.
Gareth McDowell, Chair of the Down Community Radio said: “We are delighted that Donavan has won the guitar. He actually played years ago and busked his way round Europe on a tour.

“So maybe this will get Donavan back into playing once more and enjoying his music. On hehalf of the radio I’d like to thank evereyone who who donated for the 10 tickets we sold. And a special thank you again. to George Lowden for his kind generorsity.
“Our community radio is now up and running after several months of sorting our premises, equipment, licences and many other things and we are looking forward to presenting a range of programmes going forward.
“We have a number of resident DJs keeping the beat going for the radio but eventually we will broaden out and have a few interest based programmes going forward.

The Downpatrick-based radio station is currently based at the former BBC studio in the St Patrick Centre in Downpatrick.
