A spokesperson said: “NI Water and our contractor BSG appreciate that this is a popular path frequented by walkers and the general public, and we will do everything possible to keep any disruption to a minimum.

“The project team has liaised with stakeholders in the area and signage with a detailed map will be in place to advise the public on restricted areas.

“Construction sites are dangerous areas for unauthorised persons, especially children.

“The NI Water team and contractor would appreciate the cooperation of the public in ensuring that children do not play in or around the works or machinery.

“Working areas will have warnings in place to protect the public from any danger.

“NI Water and their contractor for this improvement work, BSG, thank the public for their continued patience and cooperation as work to enhance the local water supply infrastructure.”
