The local Castlewellan District LOL No. 12 comprising seven local Orange Lodges [Castlewellan, Newcastle, Bryansford, Maghera, Aughlisnafin, Ballywillwill and Dundrum] has mobilised its members to assist in the local fight against the Covid -19 virus.
It has decided that its focusxa0will be directed toward locally-based health care staff, nursing homes etc.
As a first step they have been able to purchase a quantity of hand sanitiser and the first batch of it was distributed toxa0River House Residential home in Newcastle recently.
In a separate initiative Newcastle Temperance LOL 357 has made a substantial donation to the Pantry Foodbank to assist it in continuing its important work within the community.
