Links Are Forged At Neigbourhood Watch Conference

Councillor Dick said, “These conferences and similar events give members the opportunity to engage with each other face to face, and they are key to the efficient co-ordination of neighbourhood watch efforts across the district. We have been given a fantastic opportunity to learn from our southern counterparts, and it is imperative that we maintain these links and share best practice wherever possible.”

“> Also, Councillor Michael Coogan, Chairperson of Down District Community Safety Partnership added that “Down District‘s Neighbourhood Watch Scheme has been going from strength to strength since its inception in 2005, with the current membership standing at over 80 co-ordinators. What these Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators do for the people of our district is outstanding, and I would like to thank and acknowledge all of them for their hard work, dedication and invaluable contribution to making Down district a safer place to live, work and visit.” Councillor Coogan concluded by thanking the guest speakers and organisers of the event. Neighbourhood Watch groups were attended from the Rowallene, Downpatrick and Newcastle areas.]]>
