Irish Championship For Last MX Meeting of Season

With the 2012 motocross season drawing to a close, South Down will see its final adult motocross-racing event of the year in September writes Stuart Campbell.

On Saturday 1 September, the Mourne Motorcycle Club will host the seventh round of the 2012 Irish Motocross Championship at Norman Green’s Seaforde MotoParc.

This will be the penultimate round of the championship  with the final round to be held in Clonroche,  and with two rounds to go there are men from south Down fighting for top places, as every championship class is still to be decided.

The MX1 class is being led by Comber’s Wayne Garrett, with Ballygowan man Gary Gibson in second place. Loughbrickland’s John Meara leads the MX2 class, Donal Teague from Coalisland leads the MX1 Semi Expert class and the MX2 Semi Expert class is being led by sixteen-year-old Stuart Fee from Dromara.
