Kimmins raises Newry-Dublin bus route with Translink

Liz Kimmins met with Translink on Thursday 23rd September and raised the importance of fully re-instating the Newry-Dublin Airport–Dublin route.

Down and Armagh MLA Liz Kimmins MLA has called for the Dublin airport bus link to be reiinstated following service cuts in the Covod-19 period.

The Newry and Armagh MLA said: “Currently, Translink’s 2021-2022 timetable only has services from Newry to Dublin and Dublin Airport every two hours after 9.40am.

“However, pre-Covid, there was an hourly service for this route. Meanwhile Banbridge still has its hourly service to Dublin.

“Today, I met with Translink and stressed the importance of fully reinstating this service particularly for locals who depend on using the bus to get to Dublin Airport for work purposes.

“I was informed that the service is being kept under review. I will continue to raise this issue and the importance of improving Newry’s public transport service, so everyone can get to where they need to be.”
