Kilkeel Suspected Drugs Seizure Worth Around £860,000

Police Scoop up large quantity of suspected drugs in Kilkeel

A man, arrested by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch following a £860,000 drug seizure inxa0Kilkeelxa0on Thursday 10th April, has been released on policexa0bail pending further enquiries.xa0

Thexa0proactive search of a property in the Carrigenagh Road area resulted in class A and B controlled drugs, suspected cocaine and cannabis, being seized.xa0The Tactical Support Group were in attendance.

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Organised Crime Branch have seized class A and B drugs with an estimated street value of £860,000 of suspected cannabis and cocaine in Kilkeel. xa0

It follows a proactive search of a property in the Carrigenagh Road area in Kilkeel.



A police spokesman said: “Our officers will continue to protect communities from the harm of illegal drugs. As a result of this excellent police work, a large quantity of suspected dangerous controlledxa0drugsxa0are now safely off our streets.

“Drugsxa0have no place in our community and I am making a direct appeal to anyone with information about the illicit supply, possession or misuse ofxa0drugs to contact us on the non-emergency number 101.”

“The seizure demonstrates our commitment to keeping local communities safe from this type of criminality and removing these illegal substances from our streets.”
