A man’s car was sprayed in Kilkeel.

Police are appealing for witnesses following criminal damage to a car in the Grange Meadow area of Kilkeel on Tuesday (10 November) evening writes Laura Barr.

At around 9.50pm it was reported that spray paint had been used to vandalise a car and police have confirmed that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

Mournes Councillor Sean Doran told Down News that the individuals responsible should be “ashamed of their actions”.

He added: “I am totally disgusted that someone would think it is okay to sneak about in the dark and damage a car belonging to a decent hard-working man.

“A man who has a family to support and needs this vehicle to get to work to support his family”.

The Sinn Fein representative continued: “These people should be ashamed of their actions and need to take a good look at themselves.

“I would ask anyone who had any information on this to contact the PSNI as this type of behaviour needs to stop.”

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw anything suspicious in the area to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 1822 10/11/20.
