Joyriders Coming To The Lyric

xa0JOYRIDERS BY CHRISTINA REID

Belfast 1986. Four teenagers and a social worker are watching a production of ‘The Shadow of a Gunman‘ at a theatre in the south of the city.

The following morning, they’re back at their Youth Training Programme, near their homes in the Divis Flats. Set over a period of a few months, we learn of their hopes and fears, their aspirations for the future and how they cope with life in what was once described as ‘the worst housing development in Western Europe.’

Come see this rehearsed reading, directed by our head of Creative Learning, Philip Crawford.

Joyriders was last performed at the Lyric Theatre in 1986.
