Johnston Welcomes Plan for New Flying Horse Playpark

Downpatrick Sinn Féin Councillor Liam Johnston has welcomed news that the Flying Horse Estate will be gaining a newly built playground in the near future.

The estate has been without a playground since the old one was removed to make way for the new Ballymote Sport and Wellbeing Centre. Councillor Johnston said:xa0“It is my understanding that funds have been secured for a brand new playground in the Flying Horse through the Department of Social Development and Neighbourhood Renewal.

“This is welcome news and completes the work started by the Flying Horse Ward Community Forum almost 15 years ago.

“The playground xa0is a much needed recreational facility for the Flying Horse, an estate with no play parks for families to avail of. I fully welcome this news and believe that construction is to begin on this project in April.”
