New Job Opportunities Available at Newry Mourne and Down Job Fair

The Newry Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership are offering local employers and residents the opportunity to come together at a Job Fair in Newry on Thursday 25 May 2023.

Providing a platform for businesses across the district to promote live employment vacancies, the Newry Mourne and Down Job Fair will offer new job opportunities to individuals interested in starting, progressing or shifting careers.  

Labour Market Partnerships, which create targeted employment action plans for council areas, are funded by the Department for Communities, and allow for collaboration at local and regional level to support people towards and into work.

Launching Newry Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership Job Fair which will take place in Canal Court Hotel, Newry on 25 May 2023 is Department of Communities representative Charlotte McComb and Newry, Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Councillor Michael Savage.

Current vacancies from various sectors including manufacturing; professional services; finance; hospitality; transport; and many more will be available with local employers based in the Newry Mourne and Down District Council area.

Vacancies range from full-time to part-time, and flexible and casual roles, with global, local and family-owned businesses, who will be on hand to engage with participants regarding available opportunities that currently exist.

Launching the Job Fair at Canal Court Hotel, Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson Councillor Michael Savage said: “With an immense talent pool of individuals across our District and the current vacancies our businesses have, the Newry Mourne and Down Job Fair is an ideal opportunity to unite both.

“The Job Fair will enable individuals to secure employment, whilst assisting in the success and growth of our indigenous businesses.

“If you are actively seeking a new job or thinking about a change in career, or indeed want to speak to someone about your career prospects, then come along to Canal Court Hotel on 25 May, you never know what it could lead to or how your career could develop.”

Attendees can avail of one-on-one support and advice on finding a job, writing a CV, and preparing for interview from local support agencies including the Careers Service; Job Search Services; and local Further Education Colleges.

Newry Mourne and Down Labour Market Partnership will also have an information stand to promote initiatives available to help people secure jobs as well as to support businesses with their recruitment, employment, and training needs. 

The Newry Mourne and Down Job Fair is free to attend on a drop-in basis from 10am to 3pm in Canal Court Hotel, Newry on Thursday 25 May 2023.
