Jim Shannon MP for Strangford has congratulated the Michael O’Neill and the Northern Ireland squad on their superb success qualifying for the European Championships.
Commentating after watching the match, jim Shannon said: “A magnificent night for the whole of Northern Ireland. Our boys really showed what can be achieved with good old fashioned hard work and determination.
“Northern Ireland are going to France for our first major tournament in 30 years and I’m not alone when I say I never thought I’d see the day. What terrific ambassadors these young men are for our wee country and I’m sure I speak for the whole province from Ards to Armagh when I wish them well.
“This squad of individuals have put Northern Ireland for the map for all the right reasons, showing everyone that this wee place is really worth taking pride in. Bring on France!”
