Islandderry To Run All Night Fly Fishing Competition

BOTH lakes at Islandderry Fishery, Dromore, are fishing well with a selection of flies catching including Buzzers, Orange Blobs and Nymphs.

10-year old Mark Neilly, Portadown, netted 5 trout on the Hollow Springs Lake on Saturday using Nymphs and hooking into two fish on the one cast.  Mark managed to land both fish, with a little help from Dad Darrell.

Jay Pinion was fishing Blobs on a floating line to release 5 trout.  The Main Lake is fishing well in the evenings to a Dry Sedge with Sam Alexander, Banbridge, landing 12 trout in a couple of hours from the jetty, with some nice trout around the 4/6lbs  mark.

The next competition is the annual All Night Competition & BBQ on both lakes this Saturday 18 June.  The competition runs from 7pm to 7am and always proves to be a good nights craic.

The fishery is  holding a Under-16 summer league on the Hollow Springs Lake (fly fishing only) which will start on Saturday 25th June at 10am.
