The Irish language will be celebrated in 2013

In 2013 throughout the island of Ireland, the Irish language will be celebrated. xa0There will be national events, local events, competitions and newxa0Irish language projects organised through the year. Why 2013? The revival of the Irish language received a majorxa0boost in 1893 with the establishment of Conradh naxa0Gaeilge of which Cumann Gaelach Leath Chathail is part. In 2013 we will be recognising the progressxa0made over the last 120 years by Irish language organisations, schools and other groups in preserving,xa0reviving and promoting the language. There are representatives of over 50 organisations (including Irishxa0language, Gaeltacht, cultural, student and other organisations) on a working group organising the programme for the year. Not only that but there will alsoxa0be hundreds of other organisations organising eventsxa0in 2013.
