THE Irish FA held its annual indoor cup for the Under 9’s and Under 11’s at the Shankill Leisure Centre in Belfast.

Teams from all over the country came along to take part in a fun filled day which provided football in a non-competitive for the Under 9 age group.  Teams taking part in this age group were: Comber Rec,Crusaders, Carnmoney FC, Sion Swifts, Glentoran, Linfield Ladies,  Predator Juniors and Lisburn Ladies.  The standard of football was really impressive and all the girls really enjoyed the day.

In the Under 11’s competition,  Ballynahinch FC, Comber Rec, Crusaders, Lisburn Ladies, Linfield, Sion Swifts, Glentoran, Armagh City Ladies, Carnmoney FC, Cliftonville Ladies, and Predator Juniors all took part. The first semi-final was between Crusaders and Glentoran and it was a tight match with the final score Crusaders 2-1 Glentoran.  In the second semi-final Ballynahinch took on Predator Juniors; with Ballynahinch coming out the strongest winning the match 2-0.

The Final was between Crusaders and Ballynahinch with Crusaders’ Dara Devine scoring the opening goal.  Ballynahinch fought back, however in spite of some brilliant shots they just couldn’t get past Crusaders’ Lauren Graham who pulled off some fine saves.  Crusaders’ Aimee-Leigh Peachey secured the second goal to help her team pick up the Under 11 Cup.
