Independent Slieve Croob Councillor Patrick Clarke has raised his concerns regarding NI Water not yet setting a date to commence upgrade works at Dundrum Waste Water Treatment Works following an update received from NI Water.

dn_screenCouncillor Patrick Clarke added:xa0″NI Water is currently still assessing solutions to the loading capacity issue at the Dundrum Waste Water Treatment Works.”

“At present NI Water cannot commit to a start date for the capital solution. Furthermore, NI Water cannot recommend connection to the public sewer system at this time unless it is a like for like development, previously approved development, or offering a reduced loading on the sewer network.”

“NIEA/NI Water has agreed that this approach will be maintained until all options have been reviewed and a solution on the way forward agreed.”

“NI Water have further advised in respect to the environmental impact that a Microbial Source Tracking (MST) study has been carried out and NI Water are currently awaiting the results of this from AFBI to allow NI Water to complete the appraisal report.”
