Chris Hazzard, Sinn Fein MLA and South Down Westminster election candidate in May, has welcomed the news that Transport NI has responded to advise that they will be carrying out work on the B175 Edendarriff Road.
Mr Hazzard explained: “I xa0approached Transport NI to discuss the condition of the road surface and pointed out that there was clear evidence that there was a problem.
“The surface was of a shiny appearance and there were signs of wear at the the edges where the surface was uneven and crazed.
“As a result of his intervention, I was able to obtain agreement that an inspection was to be carried out. This was done and Transport NI have now responded to confirm that the road requires resurfacing and that this will be carried out in the months ahead.”
