Sinn Féin MLA Chris Hazzard has said that the party Ard Fheis in Derry was a huge success given the amount of delegates who attended and the high level of debate.

Chris Hazzard MLA was pleased with the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis in Derry.[/caption]Mr Hazzard said:xa0“The growth and strength of the party was evident as South Down members joined over 2000 Sinn Féin delegates and visitors attended the Ard Fheis over the weekend including many young people. “Along with people from every county in Ireland people from the US, Canada, Australia, Cuba and countries across Europe were present. “The event was a great success and I took the opportunity to speak to the motion on economic recovery during one of the sessions. “I outlined our opposition to austerity and moving more economic levers from Britain onto the island of Ireland. “The Ard Fheis was buzzing and put the party on a great footing as the party faces into a British General election and I look forward to working to make us the biggest party North in the months ahead,” xa0added Mr Hazzard.
