South Down Sinn Féin MLA Chris Hazzard has called on people to take the opportunity to register to vote at the upcoming registration clinics.
Mr Hazzard said:xa0“It is important that people register to vote if they are to exercise their franchise at the May 7th Westminster election.
“Sinn Féin welcome the number of electoral clinics organised in the coming weeks to enable people to get on the electoral register.
“The clinics will be held at Newcastle Centre Friday 13 March from 3pm – 6pm, Nautilus Centre Kilkeel Friday 13th March from 10am – 1pm and the Sean Hollywood Arts Centre Newry Friday 6 March from 3 – 6pm.
“This is an opportunity for people not only to get on the register but also to attain an electoral identification card that will allow them to vote on 7 May and any further election.
“I would urge people to check if they are currently on the electoral register and if not they should attend one of the clinics and secure their vote.”
